I think most of the war movies focus on telling the accurate history of the war and also the love between the characters in the movie. Similar to those movies, I felt that this movie's key intention was to let us know about this incident; to show how those inhumane genocide happened and how it changed a person's life which wasn't that long time ago. Many people didn't know what was happening in Rwanda during the genocide and I think the writer and the director of the movie wanted to tell what exactly happened there and that it could happen anywhere else if we don't pay attention to other countries near us. I have never heard about this genocide in Rwanda and I was ashamed at myself for being ignorant and I was glad that I saw this movie. It showed me how being indifferent to others in order to save myself could really destroy them even though it may not seem of a big deal.

I understand your feelings. I was ashamed, too to know that I haven't known anything about the Rwandan Genocide. Maybe we were too youung back then to know what had happened in a country called Rwanda. I am glad that I now know about this event that happenend only several years ago. Like you do, I think this movie wanted to give people some knowledge on Rwandan Geoncide, and their intention was delivered well. It really taught me about the genocide. If I could add more to your thoughts on the movie's intention, I thought that this movie also tried to show the actions of other countries and UN at that time. They had the responsibility to keep the world's peace but they didn't. It showed me that big organizations such as UN can be quite ignorant sometimes on cases like this. this movie made me recollect the fact that other countries do not try their best to help their neighboring country as much as they can. like this, I think there are some morals in this movie such as things that I mentioned above.
